KOODANKULAM WOMEN ON ONE DAY FAST AT COIMBATORE


On 15.12.2011 (Thursday) from 9am to 5pm
At Coimbatore, near Tamil Nadu Hotel, Gandhipuram.

Sixty four People’s organizations, which includes Political Parties, Social Organisations, Organisations for Dalit Rights, Human Rights Organisations and Environmental Groups, have extended their solidarity and commitment to participate in the captioned One Day fast.  Over 500 women and children from Koodankulam and nearby villages are expected to participate in the Fast.  The Fast is primarily intended to pray and prevail upon the Industrial and Trade organization of Coimbatore to refrain from their agitation to urge the Government to Commission the KKNPP immediately.

The Fast will be inaugurated by Ko.NAMMAZHWAR, the renowned Nature Farming Scientist and  the Fast will be concluded with the address of THAVATHIRU MARUDHASALA ADIGALAR, the Pontiff of Perur Mutt and will be Presided over by PMANE Coordinator Dr.S.P. UDAYAKUMAR.

THA. VELLAYAN, the President of Federation of Traders Associations in Tamil Nadu, GANESA  MURTHY, Member of Parliament of MDMK, KUMARA.RAVIKUMAR of Kongu Ilanjar Peravai, KOVAI SYED,   General Secretary of Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK), ABU THAHIR, District President  of Socialist Democratic Party of India(SDPI) and Dr.RAMESH, a leading member of the Technical Committee of PMANE will be the key speakers..

There are other eminent personalities like Dr.Nanjil Nadan, Sahitya Academy Award Winner, Dr.N.Markandan, Former Vice Chancellor of Gandhi Gram University, S.N.Nagarajan, a Scientist and Marxist Scholar, Gnani, a renowned writer Dr.Jeevanandam from Green Peace Movement who will address the Meet. Members representing various Social Organisations, Environmental Groups and Human Rights Organisation will also greet the Meet and speak on the occasion.

Besides the above the highlight of the Fast will be the heart rendering presentations by  various struggling women and children from Koodankulam explaining their plight through speeches, slogans and songs.
